Mommy's Hair

I love natural hair! I have been natural for my whole life and I have no plans to ever try a relaxer. I cannot tell you what to do with your own hair, nor would I bash anyone for choosing to use a relaxer. I'm simply stating what works for me.

While looking for pictures, I realized that a few things:
1. I don't have a lot of pictures of different styles that I had as a child.
2. I wore my hair pressed/flat ironed a lot!
3. Natural hair is very versatile!

Okay, maybe I already knew about #3! Lol!!

I decided to do a big chop of sorts two days before Christmas. The next to the last picture shows how my hair looked on my way to the salon. It wasn't damaged. It wasn't falling out. I just wanted a change and I love it!!!! I've always had a nice length and even though I wore it straightened/flat ironed more than I should, I didn't lose my curls.

I've had my TWA since December and I have fully embraced it. I've gone back for a few trims since getting it cut because I'm not ready for it to grow out just yet. I have the shortest hair in the house and I couldn't be happier!

Protective Style - All Dressed Up

Anisa recently found this cute dress and she couldn't wait to wear it!! I've been thinking about doing another protective style and I thought about small box braids again. I quickly changed my mind when I remembered how long of a process it is.  I decided to do an off-centered curly mohawk. I did not use any rubberbands for this style. There is one hair pin in the front to keep the curls out of her face.

Here is a picture that was taken before I rolled her braids.

I  rolled her braids using satin covered sponge rollers. She slept in the rollers over night and covered her hair using a satin bonnet.

Here she is all dressed up and ready for church.

We love it!!
