An Accidental Style: Quick and Easy

I've been busy with schoool related stuff all week so I really haven't had a chance to do much to Anisa's hair. I did a simple ponytail style Thursday night just in case she got out of the house with her dad and baby brother on Friday while I was gone. It has been steaming hot here but we got some much needed rain Friday. I don't know if it was the rain or the fact that she loves to play rough with her little brother, but when  I got home her hair was a mess!! I needed to make a run to not one, but two different stores so I needed to do something quick and easy.

I removed the ponytails and thought about doing a big puff.  Next, I thought about the banana clips that I recently purchased from Walmart. I've never used a banana clip in her hair so I was curious about how it would turn out. Since her hair was in ponytails I really didn't need to detangle it too much. Before I added the clip I smoothed her edges with Oyin Handmade Burnt Sugar Pomade. This was another first. I've only been using it on myself and on my son with great results.

Once her hair was secured with the clip, the clip disappeared! Her hair was so big that the clip was no longer visible. I stared at her huge mass of beautiful hair and wondered about my next step. That's when I decided to roll the hair as if I was making a french roll. I sprayed a little bit of Oyin Handmade Juices and Berries on her hair and began rolling. Once again, this was my first time using this product on her hair. I continued to roll until I reached the front. I curved the roll once I reached the front and pinned it into place. I also added pins throughout the length of the roll to secure it.  This style was created in a matter of minutes!
