A Letter to a King

To my King,

On this day two years ago you came into our world. After several hours of labor there you were. Bright eyed and alert, you were ready to stake your claim. You were ready to portray all that your name stands for. You are my King. The ruler of my heart. You are your daddy's little twin and your sister's pride and joy. Your presence is like no other.

You're never one to be overlooked in a crowd. You wear your crown well. Although you may not know about all of the power that you hold, one day you will. One day you'll grow older and have a little one of your own. You'll look at your son with the same prideful eyes that look upon you each day. You'll know what I feel when I look at you.

You're getting older everyday. Pretty soon mommy won't be able to pick you up and carry you around. You'll tower over your sister and you'll look even more like your dad. One thing that will never change is that you will always be loved. From your first day until my very last I will make sure that you never forget that.

I'll always love you,

Mommy
Happy Birthday to my King

  6. Wow! I don't have any children yet, but I have natural hair, so I love visiting your site. I know I'm late, but I just had to comment on this post, because I find it ironic that your son, King shares the same birthday as my grandfather who was named King Solomon. Great name!
